At 5:45 PM on July 13, 2011, as part of the 5 PM evening news, San Francisco based KTVU Channel 2 (Claudine Wong reporting) aired a “Special Report” titled, “Communications Wake‐Up Call”. The 2.5 minute video details the immediate need for emergency data communications for disaster response and management throughout the metropolitan Bay Area.
Claudine Wong, KTVU anchor / reporter, interviewed Dr. Steven Ray, Distinguished Research Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, Guy Simpson, Full Spectrum VP of Operations and Stewart Kantor, Full Spectrum CEO. Dr. Ray highlighted that no improvement has been made in emergency data communications since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Guy Simpson, Full Spectrum VP of Operations, provided an overview of the Full Spectrum technology including the ease and speed with which it can be deployed over an ultra‐wide area at relatively low cost especially when compared to all other 4G technologies. Stewart Kantor, Full Spectrum CEO, highlighted the urgency with which a solution is required and the availability of the company’s technology today.
